Simple physics chains are fun interactive chains that can be added to any map! Each chain can be adjusted to suit the needs of the developer with ease using a simple spline system to 'draw' out the shapes of chain paths. Chains use UE's built-in physics constraints to drive the physics behaviour, so everything is made with the tools provided. Chain links in their static form are instanced, and in the physics form, skeletal meshes. Chains are blueprint ready as well.

NOTE: This is NOT an ideal asset for pulling objects, swinging from chains, necklaces, adding to characters, or dynamically growing/shrinking the length of the chain during play.

Technical Details

ASSET FEATURES:

  • Written as a C++ plugin for best performance with all systems
  • Chains are modifiable into any spline shape, add points and draw them out with ease!
  • Chains can either be instanced (frozen) or simulated with physics
  • Includes 5 physics chain class types (Basic, Socketed, Hanging Meshes, Multi-Link, and Chain Gun)
  • Multiple link meshes to swap and try out, along with an included hanging lantern mesh
  • You can modify many settings right from the editor panel, including mesh, rotations, scale, spacing, gravity, constraints, and much more.
  • Includes a showcase map containing all of the assets
  • *** NOTE: Player in demo requires inputs, might require adding key bindings to make player move. Refer to walk through if confused.
  • *** NOTE: Works best in UE4, UE5 has more inconsistency
